In educational environments, good acoustics are essential for both well-being and learning. A well-functioning sound environment reduces noise, promotes concentration, and creates better conditions for both students and teachers. At The School in Sydhavnen, we have therefore had the pleasure of delivering and installing an acoustic solution where functionality and aesthetics come together – with a particular focus on sustainability and operational efficiency.
The solution consists of perforated and solid Topakustik-panels Perfo M in peeled pine, in a 1000×1000 mm format. The square format was chosen to minimize waste during production and installation, while also contributing to a flexible solution that is easy to maintain and adapt to future needs. The panels are mounted using the concealed Topakustik SL3 system, which provides a clean and elegant expression without visible screws or fittings. At the same time, the panels can easily be removed, ensuring optimal access for technical maintenance and upgrades. The acoustic solution is built as a B-s1,d0 system-approved layer, meeting stringent fire safety requirements and providing reassurance in daily operations.
In terms of design, the project has been carried out in a Nordic style, where warm, natural materials such as wood contrast with harder, painted surfaces. The result is an inviting and harmonious environment where aesthetics and acoustics go hand in hand – and where the indoor climate supports both learning and well-being.
