La Nave School, Buchs
A prime example of innovative school architecture, where wood defines both the interior and exterior spaces, was created in Buchs SG. The child-friendly design is evident in features like the central seating steps that integrate the school library, a playful slide and the rooftop seating area that doubles as an outdoor classroom, promoting sustainable development for students.
Topakustik products play a key role in the interior finishings, prominently featured in the two main staircases. The Topakustik planks 14/2 M made of RESAP® and MDF on the ceiling and smooth planks made from RESAP® on the walls were manufactured with an elegant veneer made of Swiss ash wood. This high-quality, real-wood veneer emphasises the natural aesthetics and gives the wall and ceiling cladding an unmistakable character. The ceiling in the large central stairwell was finished with perfectly absorbent micro-acoustic panels using a subcontracting process with customer material. The superior material quality and surface finish create not only a pleasant atmosphere but also exceptional acoustics and a unique design.
This project showcases Topakustik’s expertise as a solution partner, meeting every custom challenge to align with client needs. It demonstrates how the harmonious combination of functionality, aesthetics, and sustainability can create an inspiring environment for both children and adults.
