Fascination Veneers

Real Wood Veneers – the Natural Art of Diversity

Immerse yourself with us in the world of real wood veneers. Located at Lake Lungern in Central Switzerland, aesthetics and the careful use of natural resources are close to our hearts. That is why we use real wood veneers for the surfaces of our acoustic elements, produced in our in-house veneer mill. This way, we know the origin of every tree and can offer you and your project the almost endless variety of wood species and their grain patterns. The diversity of our cutting and matching methods provides the freedom to realize individual requirements of any scale.

Sustainability

Topakustik has always relied on its own production of real wood veneers — not only because of their excellent technical and functional properties, but also from a sustainability perspective. In the following sections, you will find more information on the individual topics.

The use of real wood veneer combined with MDF panels offers significant advantages over solid wood:

  • requires less valuable timber
  • avoids large-scale deforestation
  • consumes less energy
  • MDF panels are dimensionally stable and have excellent acoustic properties
  • MDF panels offer better fire resistance
  • provides greater design flexibility for wall finishes

Our in-house veneer mill allows full control of the value chain:

  • controlled value chain from log to finished veneered product
  • maximum utilization of each log
  • transparent processes and efficient project structures

For every tree processed, the origin and country are known. Benefits:

  • maximum quality assurance
  • full control over suppliers and partners
  • flexibility in material selection

Topakustik is inherently and comprehensively committed to sustainability and is certified accordingly. Our governance requires the consistent implementation of these values and standards. We source our wood exclusively from sustainably managed forests and ensure that the entire supply chain meets ecological and social standards. Our products can be provided in FSC-compliant form and meet the requirements of the European Timber Regulation (EUTR). In addition, our processes are regularly audited and certified according to current labels.

For large surfaces such as ceilings and walls, maintaining a uniform appearance can be essential. From the almost endless selection of wood species and cutting methods, we work with you to choose the real wood veneer that best matches your desired aesthetic. In the Matching Types section, you can find an overview of the different grading options.

Veneer Mill

In our veneer mill, we offer customers the opportunity to be involved in the creation process of the veneer from the very beginning—starting with the selection of the log and the pre-sorting of the veneer sheets. This results in customized real wood surfaces, perfectly tailored to each project in terms of matching type, appearance, and color tone.

Matching Types

Depending on the type of natural wood, cutting method, and veneer type, countless variations are possible when grading the different veneer sheets. Only through the matching method does the veneer reveal its character, giving the panel its individual expression and the space its distinctive visual identity.
