The Journey of Veneer
Heading for perfection
The journey of veneer begins with the careful harvesting of the tree – the log is processed and divided into segments. The veneer sheets sliced from it are carefully sorted and assembled into harmonious panels. The natural surface is then perforated and refined with the highest precision. Step by step, acoustic solutions are created that preserve the natural beauty of the wood while showcasing the highest level of true craftsmanship.
Cutting Methods
The cutting method defines the pattern
The way the log is cut plays a decisive role in the appearance of the veneer. It also defines the character of the panel – from the floral pattern created by a tangential cut to the growth rings, to the linear, striped look achieved by cutting perpendicular to the growth rings. To obtain half-rift, rift, and crown-cut veneers, the log is divided into sections and blocks, from which individual veneer sheets are then sliced.
Rift: the veneer displays a fine, straight grain pattern.
Rift/Quarter: the grain shows a slight curvature. Knots and natural characteristics of the wood may be visible depending on the log.
Crown: the veneer features a floral and decorative grain pattern.
Panel-Continuous Veneer Layouts
Each panel a handcrafted unique piece
Depending on the project, Topakustik enables a hand-selected choice of veneers, individually tailored to your project in terms of appearance, color, and log availability. The desired veneer pattern can be continued seamlessly across panels over the full height of a room, while harmonious transitions in width are also possible. Specialized solution components are created with precise craftsmanship, as such complex details cannot be manufactured by machine.
Further Processing
Give your veneer a unique touch
Regardless of the service level, customers can choose the wood species, a specific log, as well as various finishing options tailored to their individual project. Staining, brushing, or coloring adds additional textures to the surface, significantly shaping the appearance of the veneer.
